Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Serraview and the modern workplace.

Common Questions

What is a "Modern Workplace"?

In our view a modern workplace is one that is efficient (cost-effective with little wasted space) and effective in bringing out the best in your workforce. We typically see open-plan workplaces as being the first step towards achieving these goals, and activity-based-working environments as delivering the ultimate balance between supportive workplace design and cost-effectiveness.

Do you need to be a CAD expert to use Serraview?

No, Serraview has been designed to be intuitive to business users and does not require any specialist skills.

How does Serraview relate to IWMS/CAFM Systems?

IWMS and CAFM systems were invented in the late 1990s to help corporate real estate executives manage the operational aspects of running their portfolio. Today, many companies are outsourcing these operational aspects of facilities management to specialized outsourced services providers, who all bring their own best-of-breed toolsets to the table, minimizing the need to run an IWMS system in-house. Additionally, although IWMS systems include a space-management offering, it's typically not comprehensive or effective in driving strategic value. Serraview has been designed to sit on top of existing IWMS systems - either augmenting or replacing their space-management offering to deliver greater value to the business.

Do you run user forums?

Yes, user forums are held annually in Australia and the US. These events are a great opportunity for users to collaborate with our team, hear stories on how other users are tackling their space management challenges and meet each other.

How is Serraview priced?

What is the typical ROI and PBP?

Given the high cost of providing a desk to an employee, Serraview typically has a ROI when it can help you reduce your office space by less than 1% or avoid leasing new space to accommodate growth. Pay Back Period (PBP) can be relatively quick, depending upon your business conditions. Our large customers have delivered phenominal savings in the millions to hundreds of millions of dollars over the years.
